The Disruption Mural Project by Sirron Norris
San Francisco based artist, Sirron Norris, painted a mural on 20th and Bryant in the Mission district 16 years ago. However, he would like to update the mural to better connect with the current political landscape of San Francisco. The new proposed mural entitled "The Disruption," speaks to current social issues of police brutality, gentrification, the income gap, and social justice.
In order to ensure the mural has an eye towards equity, Sirron would like to hire local students and artists to help paint the mural. It’s an opportunity to support local youth financially and promote skill building. A large majority of his murals have used this same strategy of collaboration with local artists and supporting local aspiring artists and students.
